I am just curious...I never received the files that Pownce was supposed to email to us so we can download them and transfer them to our choice of new site. Does anybody have the same problem? So far I've only found a few contacts on here and a few more on soup.io. Glad to be in this Pownce group tho.
Talk to you guys soon... ;-)

Some big news is going around the Microblog/Micro communication industry today. The Pownce Team has joined Six Apart and Pownce.com will be closing their communication service. I've been using Pownce for several months now, and had come to like the service especially for sharing multimedia content and sharing Location with FireEagle. But with the announcement of Pownce shutting down, I'll be sharing my posts more on TWiT Army, FriendFeed, Vox, and Jaiku.
I think Ethan Bloch summarized the situation pretty well in his last Pownce post titled, My last note on Pownce..
I have been an avid user of various microblogging tools and one of them is Pownce. I mainly use it to interact with fellow users, promote new content in my blog, give updates on our progress at the Busby SEO Test competition.
Although there are duplicate number of users across these sites, when time permits, I seek out some active users per site and try to establish a connection with them. This I became more conscious of since Pownce announced that it is shutting down its site.
To replace Pownce, I'm now exploring other platforms like Jaiku, Rejaw, and Yonkly as an alternative. So far, I'm beginning to get a hang of Rejaw and realized that those who love to share photos will enjoy it the most.
Of course, Twitter, Plurk, Tumblr, among others are there too.
How about you? Where do you spend most of your microblogging time online?
Up to and since that time a number of us have been bemoaning our loss over at http://pownce2.com. If you're a Pownce exile, please feel free to join us.
Pownce will be missed.
I know it's old news that Pownce is closing, but I just went across there to pick up my posts as an export for vox and when I got to the point of importing I noticed that all my posts were being fed there from Twitter anyway. Talk about redundant. Long ago I must have begun feeding Twitter to Pownce, and completely forgotten about it.
One less blog/microblog/social networking service to worry about. I wonder if I can take the knife to any more? Jaiku?
Bummer...Pownce NING is currently undergoing maintenance.
These two are amusing. Its a couple in their 80's that review movies. The wife is a movie producer and the husband wrote the Adam West batman series.
thanks for the time you were there, nice clean layouts, all the bits, you know, best o luck integrating into vox - I was already a member here...
